Course Overview

Course structure

This course is designed for absolute beginners – Level 0.

You will learn Russian step by step, following the story of Fernando Alvarez, an engineer from Madrid who comes to St. Petersburg for two months to study Russian.

  • Module 0 – Alphabet and phonetics: letters, sounds and reading.
  • Modules 1–8 – dialogues, grammar, vocabulary and interactive exercises.
  • At the end of each module, you complete a practical final task.

What you will learn

  • Introduce yourself and talk about your family and job.
  • Describe your daily routine and tell the time.
  • Navigate the city and use public transport.
  • Order food, ask prices and buy groceries.
  • Talk about hobbies and future plans.
  • Describe weather, seasons and clothing.
